Jizo Child Monk with Bucket & Snake Sculpture Japanese Style’s Jizo Child Monk with Bucket & Snake Sculpture represents the Buddhist monk Jijang. Prior to his temple being built on Mount Jiuhau, Jijang lived in a meditation hut on the mountain. One day Jijang was bitten by a poisonous snake but he did not move, thus letting the snake go. A local woman cured him of the venom. The woman’s son also owned the mountain where Jijang lived, so the woman gave Jijang a spring to provide a source of water for him. He lived on Mount Jiuhua for 75 years before passing to nirvana at the age of 99. This sculpture was custom-made for Japanese Style. This is a custom made statue.
